Meet Jackie

He has a keen interest in the relationship between mental and physical health. He is currently doing studies in counselling to further his ability in implementing holistic care.

What does connection mean for you?

Connection is about the exchange of stories. It is important to both share and listen. I have learnt so much about life through the stories of others. It makes me even happier when stories are shared over a meal. I have had many fits of laughter hearing stories from my grandma over the dining table.

What makes you feel excited?

Anything wrapped in flaky pastry goodness.

When makes you feel inspired?

Seeing people’s stories told on screen in the cinema.

Where do you feel most relaxed?

Anywhere I can see the ocean meeting the horizon.

Meet Robin

Robin truly believes that everyone deserves an opportunity at improving and being the best version of themselves. He believes in educating individuals to equip them with the knowledge to take control of their own rehabilitation and recovery. He enjoys working towards achieving goals for others, striving to have them constantly improve. With the individual’s goals at the forefront, the sessions aims to empower the individual to become a more knowledgeable version of themselves.

During his journey as a physiotherapist he has thoroughly enjoyed the conversations with patients. He feels that the stories and experiences shared not only kindle his interest but it grows connection. Understanding individuals allows him to become the medium to facilitate necessary changes to recovery and healing.

When do I feel like I can zone the world out?

There are several things that I do that help me briefly forget about my problems and stresses. They are:

Basketball, Ocean swimming, Cycling, Running, Spending time with my family and friends, Reading

What gets me excited?

Food. I will drive to any neighbourhood to immerse myself in a particular cuisine and culture, where I can experience great stories and nuances of a country.

What is one thing you will never do again?

Eat an oyster drizzled in dark chocolate. (I came up with that myself, surely no one would willingly sell that)

What do you do to connect with yourself more?

I like to set myself challenges that I think are crazy and impossible. Then I set goals and work to complete that challenge, I find working consistently means that I can often achieve something that I once thought was impossible. I absolutely love the journey, plus the feeling of completing these challenges are incredible. One of my future goals is to complete an Ironman triathlon.
